Victorian playing cards

Here is the result of four months of work on a deck of 54 cards created using 3D tools. Each figure in the cards was replaced by its counterpart symbolizing it, a scepter for the king, a rose for the queen and a pistol for the jack. The whole kept in the Victorian convention. I invite you to support the kickstarter campaign that will fund the card printout.

Making of
For this project all the images are created in modo. Every element is modeled, texured and rendered. I wanted a photorealistic style, with materials based on copper, silver and few elements of glass or precious stones like the obsidian in this King of Spades scepter.

The full process is much more closer to sculpting than painting. After creating your clay model you have to paint on it the right materials and lit it with spot lights like in classical photography. Photoshop is used here only to enhance some contrasts.
Thanks for watching. You can support our project here.
