MARY ANNE ANASTASIA

MARY ANNE ANATASIA
Mary Anne Anastasia is a portrait painted with acrylic on canvas. The outline of the lady was first sketched on bare canvas with a graphite pencil. The black background was then painted with matte black paint and the lady began to get filled in. Her hair was first and was a mixture of maroon and orange paint. Once everything was filled in black sharpie was used to outline the waves of her hair and the edges of her blouse. The white flowers that are surrounding her were the last addition to the piece, they were drawn with chalk.

My inspiration for this piece were the girls that I always used to doodle in my sketchbooks and on homework assignments during class. I like to think of her as the ultimate flower child, and what more flower child name than Mary Anne Anastasia which was the inspiration for the title of this piece. Her eyes are closed as she is basking in the sunlight outside. Her features are chilseled as she is a very powerful, beautiful, and strong girl. The gold outline on the side of her face shows that she has a heart and mind of gold just like the gold on her earring.
