Wish(ful)

This piece plays upon two interpretations of the word "wishful." The jar starts out as an empty vessel, embodying the artist's wishful thinking in hopes that it will be filled. As time passes, this wishful thinking will slowly be realized with the participation of museum goers (by writing down a wish, folding it into a star, and dropping it into the jar). Furthermore, Wish(ful) encourages the viewer to examine wishes, wishful thinking, and initiation in self-fulfillment. Thus, Wish(ful) is an exploration of the abstract and concrete notion of fullness while also an inquiry into the act of wishing.
