"Össztűz"
In the course of the “Össztűz” prestudies I observed what open flame and smoke does with a ceramic object. At the same time in 2009 I started to deal with the errors of the city weave and its reconsideration. I announced this project for students already working with different materials.
After the exhibition in the Budapest Gallery where the audience experienced the flame, light, heat and smoke of 6200 matches at close quarters via my work, I knew in the near future I won’t have the possibility to boost this project in a bigger exhibition space. At this point there was no way back, I had to change the place and the tool. Thus this a previous, continuously developing idea could get a new face and form.

The symbolic permeability, control and scale increase of fire lead to the realization of “Össztűz” project.
During the “Össztűz” temporary sculptures are built and come in to action of small bricks and chunk wood, without any binder. According to my intention these observe how fire can come up in public spaces. During the project the creation and the building process comes public for professionals and visitors as well.
Experiences
This project is an excellent opportunity for experimental learning. The action situations – where the local conditions, available tools, financial boundaries, safety regulations, weather, transport and the opinion of the other team members all define the needed decision – are able to evoke real learning situations.
Because only a short time is available for the realization, it’s even more important to find the proper motivation for everyone. We can “convince” ourselves about the beauty of the teamwork, the irreplaceable experience of the participation and present being, or we can enjoy the awaiting of the final form.
Everybody has prefiguration and many times prejudices against fire. Not necessarily the fire but the memory that connects to it is what causes fear. Prohibitions, regulations, danger pronounced by parents or fear appears and psychic answers are born against the connection with the phenomenon. However after firing up tons of wood they quickly step over their fears and the personal experience overrides these previous intentions.
Hereby I present some pictures about the atmosphere of the „Összűz” projects realized on different places until now.
