Launching New York's First MicroHotel
The Pod Hotel
The Pod Hotel
Challenge:
In New York City, in midtown, there was a hotel. It was called The Pickwick Arms. It was an old, dark hotel that needed new life. The client, BD Hotels, owner of The Gaansvoort, The Jane, The Bowery Hotel, wanted 321 to recreate a brand from the ground up to attract a new segment, a young, international audience. The rooms, redesigned by Vanessa Guilford, were to be inspired by the Modernist movement and equipped with docking stations and flat screen TV's. Big changes, small rooms. The real challenge was to present a strong brand without misrepresenting the size of the rooms. FInally, the client needed the new brand in 10 weeks: Logo, Identity, Key messages, Color Palette, Collateral, Guest Directory, Website, PR Talking Points.
