A while back I was having a post-coital puff and explaining how a friend of mine had a nude of himself in the toilet of his Berlin flat. I wanted a few of myself as well, to put up in my space as a deeply personal representation of who I am underneath it all. In my view, men can often get too caught up in their own bubbles of ego-driven lives to accept and embrace vulnerability. In my nakedness, I found a way to peel back the attitude and surface charisma to showcase the real man behind it all.
Just an Evans.
Just a Mbora.
Just a Campbell.
Just a man.
Imeldah:
I believe that the naked body is the purest form in which a human being exists, no boundaries, no walls put up to hide behind, no escape from the space that holds their soul. This project was understanding of man, one of many, highly individualistic in their existence but at the same time harboring the same pain, responsibilities, fear and creating an image that society has actively decided to give all men as their identity. This project is basically ripping the man card that exists, but only in a corrupted reality.
Lindsay:
I remember being approached by Evans asking me to be a part of this and I couldn't be more excited. I love embracing my sexuality, I wear it on my sleeve almost. It’s something I discuss freely, and I believe we shouldn't be timid when it comes to our sexuality and how we feel we should express it. This project challenges the labels we have created as a society for 'the sexes', and I'm always up for a challenge. Breaking down the borders is something we should all practice, everyday...it opens up doors to several sides of each other and ourselves
