Advanced Clothing Concepts (ACC) was founded by a group of young 25-somethings in the year 2007. They initially got together to make really cool t-shirts. Yes, you heard that right. They were tired of seeing fashionable clothes with western designs manufactured in India that were all exported and sold abroad but coveted and aped by Indians here and there. They wanted to design, produce and sell upmarket trendy clothing that was not only made in India, but also designed and sold in India!
They traveled around Tamil Nadu handpicking a dedicated team of brilliant and passionate traditional artists, graphic designers, fashion designers, textile technology experts. A team full of young people who were given a free reign with their creativity. Two years of unrestrained, avant-garde designing experiments culminated in DOPE, the city's own loud and proud graphic artwork inspired tee-shirt brand. With its first little store launched by Actors Surya and Karthi in 2009 and covered widely in the media, Dope was all about revolutionizing Coimbatore - going beyond labels and boundaries.
The Dope line of clothing had a signature gritty look that was a fusion of graphic artwork by local artists based on Indian icons and revolutionaries such as Tagore and Bose, social issues such as child labour as well as abstract illustrations based on Man Vs. Machines. Dope had an exclusive variety of t-shirts, shirts and separates for men and women, with sculpted styling, expert construction and remarkable wash details and designs. As Mr.Senthil , MD of Advanced Clothing Concepts said then, “Dope is for those with a very open mind, for those who are not afraid to show it; it relies on our own art and culture that is true and real…and is therefore the best way to express ourselves, because in this world, we ARE what we wear.”
Dope went on to be retailed at multi-brand outlets in Chennai and other cities, and the store eventually moved to a second location at R.S.Puram. Soon ACC's other custom-design projects grew larger and took priority, leading to Dope being shelved for online retail in the future.

Today, Advanced Clothing Concepts is an Idea Company. We are still a young company but we've been in the business of having great ideas for over 6 years now. Our brands now include Scribbles (School Uniforms), Union (Collegiate Merchandise), Workaholic (High Performance Workwear) and our latest addition, SoLittle (Clothing for just-borns and infants). We’re not just a clothing company anymore, we come up with a lot of new ideas and concepts for all kinds of clients who approach us, that’s why we’re called Advanced Clothing Concepts! Yes, but we've become more than that as well. Today our team has grown and excelled to have a solid design process set in place- a creative process set to design solutions to anything that comes our way. We can be Coimbatore’s creative partner. We can be YOUR creative partners. Not only do we pay the greatest attention to the smallest of details in our solutions, we also always make sure to stay culturally relevant.
