"A new day that I and "Another Me" make together"
Dreams are my inner self and the most honest spaces that reflect what I have not achieved in reality. We meet the inner self that we have neglected through dreams and create a new life. In this work, the message is, "You must constantly look inside yourself and achieve harmony regardless of the gaze of many others." This can lead to courage for change. I hope that everyone who has lost their "real me" will be able to honestly look back on their inner self and create a colorful daily life.
꿈은 나의 내면, 현실에서 이루지 못 한 것을 가장 솔직하게 반영하는 매개체입니다. ‘타인의 시선에 상관없이 나의 내면을 끊임없이 들여다보고 화합을 이루어야 한다’ 라는 메세지를 전달함으로써 변화에 대한 용기를 이끌어냅니다. ‘진짜 나’를 잃어버린 모든 이가 자신의 내면을 솔직하게 되돌아보고 다채로운 일상을 만들어 나갈 수 있기를 바랍니다.
Kaleidoscope:
Dream shows the most sincere sides of me. The protagonist realizes that various aspects that change from moment to moment are also part of the 'I' that has not been expressed yet, and finally realizes his colorful self.
무미건조한 현실, 흑백의 주인공은 다양한 기억의 조각들과 내면 속 진정한 ‘나’를 만나며 점차 이들을 수용하고 닮아갑니다. 시시각각 달라지고 변화하는 다양한 모습들은 미처 표출되지 못 한 ‘나’의 일부임을 보여주며, 새로운 시선으로 일상을 재조명 해야 한다는 점에서 매번 색다른 패턴과 모양을 가지는 만화경을 메인 컨셉으로 도출합니다.
Story:
The numerous eyes appearing in the video show that I am conscious of the gaze of others even inside. As we walk through it, we must think about the meaning contained in the changing journey from black and white to colorful appearances. Even in our dreams, we constantly care about the gaze of others and hide ourselves in the mask. You can only meet the 'real me' when you look inside properly, and when you break the framework.
다양한 기억들 사이를 거닐며 주변 시선을 받는 주인공. 영상 속에 등장하는 수많은 눈은 내면 속에서조차 타인의 시선을 의식함을 나타냅니다. 그 사이를 거닐며 흑백에서 다채로운 모습에 이르기까지 변화하는 여정에 담긴 의미를 생각해보아야 합니다. 우리는 가장 솔직하게 감정을 드러내는 꿈 속에서조차 끊임없이 타인의 시선에 신경쓰고 가면 속에 자신을 숨기곤 합니다. 이를 벗고 안을 제대로 들여다보며 극복할 때 비로소 ‘진짜 나’를 만날 수 있습니다.
