Editorial Design and Experimental Type
Project Brief
This project required creating a unique type for momentsintype.com. The type face was required to be made using photography and self generated images. This project encouraged creatively thinking about the importance medium plays in the message of an image. As well as the various ways in which a type face can be created organically using everyday objects, or in this case human anatomy. The typeface was required to be legible and sued in an editorial design. Each letter had to be well thought out and crafted to ensure legibility and a cohesive look between the entire type face.

Design Strategy
Fashion Armour is a one of a kind, campy and kitschy handmade font. Fashion Armour celebrates the power clothes give to an individual, and the unique expression of creativity that comes with it. This design strategy was created using items from my wardrobe. The images were created using a tripod and modeling , as well as and staging some items statically. Taking different body parts and morphing them with different items such as, scarves, shoes and handbags created an interesting collision between clothing and the human body. Which is what the article, 'Surviving the Everyday with the Avante Garde', explores.
The visual strategy for this font was to incorporate bright, bold colours and a pop-art feel to the combinations of pattern and colour. The visual strategy of 'Fashion Armour' follows a very kitsch, campy and over the top style. The font itself was created through collage and photography , with treatment of bright saturated colours. Inspired by the television series, Pose, this font face was curated for Moments in Type specifically to capture the power and beauty in being uniquely yourself. Through the bright, the bold, and the just down right kitsch.
