Interactive TV UX for Palladium Hotel Group

Interactive TV UX for Palladium Hotel Group
Gif showcasing some screens from a large project I was lucky enough to work on and lead from 2017 to 2020 for Palladium Hotel Group and four of its brands (TRS Hotels, Family Selection, Grand Palladium and Palladium Travel Club). I took the UX and content management duties after the implementation of interactive TV solutions in 2017 all the way to 2020, where I reworked parts of the entire UX in a process of research > implementation > reevaluation > improvement.

Right after I took over the project, I had the tough challenge to juggle between several stakeholders within the company and their particular, conflicting interests. On one hand, our Marketing department wanted a simplified, sleek and stylish interface that made justice to the rebrands carried out that same year. On the other, the Operations team needed huge amounts of information on display. To top it off, I also needed to find a UX that was easy enough to navigate with a TV remote for several customer personas.

After some research and reworks through the years, I found that the best UX to mimic was the internet portals from way back when as older generations favored navigation experiences similar to cable TVs and older internet portals such as Yahoo!, MSN and the like, while younger audiences preferred using mobile solutions.

Big, big shoutout to my friends at Zafiro by Entertainment Solutions! They have the most versatile toolset in the industry and some of the most approachable and friendly people. You can see their suite in the link below.
