Creative Centre, Louth, Lincolnshire, U.K.
I am currently in the final months of my Masters Degree in Interior Architecture. During this year, alongside other smaller group projects, I have proposed a design for a creative centre in Louth, Lincolnshire, U.K. The creative centre is located in two 18th century warehouses and is aimed towards the millennial generation. This project addresses two issues, industrial architecture being left to decay and the lack of places for people to go creatively outside of the education system. As this centre is located within a town, spaces have been included to incorporate the local community to maximise the centres potential. As I chose to locate the centre across two buildings, separated by the Louth Canal, my concept for this project was to connect the buildings seamlessly, creating the image that they have always been one structure.

The concept of the creative centre was to create a seamless connection between the two buildings that I have chosen to repurpose into a creative centre for the millennial generation. The visual highlights the connecting bridges that have been proposed to link the buildings and create a circulation flow throughout the two structures.
The first floor of the creative centre is specified towards certain subjects, whilst the ground floor boasts spaces to rent out to encourage particiapation from the local community and the second floor focuses on interation between creative individuals, encouraging socialising away from social media. The visual above displays the proposed art studio on the first floor of the Jackson Warehouse. This features the existing void and spiral staircase, along with four easels for individual work, a large custom made bar style work space centrally, with space available for equipment or indoor plants and two smaller work spaces.
